The gospel is the good news...
"...Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners - of whom I am the worst... I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on him and receive eternal life." 1 Timothy 1:15-16
The good news of the Bible is that our holy, loving Creator, confronted with human hostility and rebellion, has chosen in his own freedom and faithfulness to become our loving Redeemer and Restorer. In simple terms, it is possible for human beings to be reconciled from our current state of rebelliousness towards God to a place of restored relationship with God through the accomplishments of his Son, Jesus.
Through faith in the completed work of Jesus Christ, we begin to experience the benefits of his righteousness, joy, and peace in this imperfect world, while our ultimate hope is in his promise of eternal life in heaven with him after we die, avoiding the righteous wrath and punishment God has stored up for those who do not know him.
